Incentives Application
Streamlining of incentives application (BOI)
The review of the fiscal incentives and investment promotion framework of the Philippines is a priority of the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) and the Philippine Development Forum (PDF) - Growth and Investment Climate Working Group (GICWG). Improving the investment climate to make the Philippines more attractive to investors requires sustaining the fiscal reforms that have already been put in place as well as strengthening the framework and institutions for investment promotion. Last 15 June 2007, the NCC and World Bank/IFC conducted a roundtable discussion that brought together thought leaders from the private sector and academe. The World Bank/IFC shared their global lessons of experience and discuss other areas studied, such as transition issues in investment incentive reform, VAT arrangements for exporters, role of incentives in human resource development and infrastructure development, and institutional arrangements for investment promotion.
