Subject:  Acceptance of Paper Permits for Customs Clearance

For the past weeks, the National Single Window System has been encountering degradation in performance severely affecting the processing of permits and licenses which resulted in the backlog of transactions for regulatory agencies and delay in customs clearance.

To minimize inconvenience, concerned Bureau personnel are hereby directed to accept/recognize paper or manually-processed permits temporarily until the performance issue is resolved. It shall be the task of Customs Examiners to verify the authenticity of such permits and licenses.

The National Single Window Helpdesk and/or the agencies concerned can be contacted for concerns on the veracity of the submitted permits and licenses. The NSW Helpdesk can be contacted at telephone numbers 4078987 or 4733357.

Processing of permits in the National Single Window System will still be continued while the performance issue is being resolved.

For your information and guidance.

(Signed)

JOHN P. SEVILLA

Commissioner
