1) Labor-Market Intelligence- (DOLE, PCCI)

  • DOLE to provide data on skills on a regional/provincial basis.

2) K to 12 Implementation- (DepEd, TESDA, PBED)

  • To focus on curriculum transition with acceleration cost and teacher qualification courses.
  • Enhancement of technical-vocational skills of high school graduates in partnership with TESDA and the industries.

3)  Industry-Academe Linkage -(CHED, BPAP, SEIPI, TESDA)

  • For quick wins, the following sectors were identified:
    • Mining
    • Tourism
    • Electronics
    • IT-BPO
    • Construction
  • Industries have advocated for curriculum change
  • BPAP, SEIPI and Construction Industry to complete package for curriculum change in the tertiary level

4)  Technical-Vocational (TESDA, PCA, TIPI, CCAP)

  • Continuation and expansion of the Ladderized form of Education that allows learners to progress between technical-vocational and college or vice-versa
  • TESDA to focus on curriculum skills which ties with Certification Assessment

5)  Reintegration of Filipino Overseas into Philippine Society (Commission on Filipinos Overseas (Sec. Imelda Nicolas and Amb. Narcisa Escaler)

6) Benchmarking and compliance to International Accords/Mutual Recognition Agreements
     (MRAs)- (PRC)

  • Simplification of Board Licensure Examinations  specifically on the Professional License of Teachers/ probably waiver of requirements on some courses
  • Compliance to the Washington Accord, APEC Registry and benchmarking with the Bologna Accord.
  • Latest news is that the Philippines will be granted accreditation to the Washington Accord next year and MAPUA will be the first Institution/school to be included in its rooster.
